08:03 AM on 10/07/12 | you can't actually believe people like this more than taylor swift can you? were talking about the biggest artists in the world not doing this, and for me to actually believe this isn't staged or a breakdown in the system is just crazy. |
i can and do. you do realize the band's first record went double platinum, right? they quietly increased sales pretty much every week on the charts for two years. if you'd paid attention to the story, this would be no surprise to you. brilliant campaign on Glassnote's part, and great restraint on the band and their management's part to underplay for the last few years. built demand, built hype, and they got a great payoff.

nope. i know nothing of this band. which is why this seems way out of left field. nowadays bands that are usually this big are plastered all over everything. either way it's great for the band, but i don't hear the appeal.

09:55 AM on 10/07/12 | All the songs weren't thrown out there as radio singles at the same time (there's only one true single released so far "I Will Wait")it's like 6 of the first tracks on the album that are being purchased a whole lot & getting some spins and whatnot. |
Ahhh. Ty! | | |

that you might not know of their work is part of the brilliance of this campaign. they're not in your face. there's no "LOOK AT US!" marketing that makes you think it's a flash in the pan. you don't feel like they'll be here today, gone tomorrow like so many other pop acts. they've done an awesome grass roots, word of mouth roll out in the US, building an actual fan base and not just people who like a song.

01:58 PM on 10/07/12 | What are all the haters on AP.net here for?
Mumford are AMAZING. I saw them live this summer and I was floored.
Both albums are great. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I love them as much as Say Anything, Brand New, Thrice. |
Babies first pop folk music
|
02:03 PM on 10/07/12 | Hey now. I didn't say this. You just posted in a thread about how mainstream popular Mumford is saying you should listen to the album. It kinda came off like you said that because the album is doing so well, you should check it out.
And you've heard nothing but good things? Did you read the review on here for it? It's probably the most truthful one out there.
Also, I love folk/whatever-they-are but I'm not gonna check this out because I know all the singles from their last album and I hated them. |
You mad? | | |

02:06 PM on 10/07/12 | + The Beatles are the most over rated band of all time, they were not any different from one direction/justin bieber in their time, marketed towards teenage girls, just how one direction is.
"O but wait, their lyrics actually meant something, not like that shit justin bieber!@@&*!*&!"
The Beatles: Well, shake it up, baby, now (Shake it up, baby) Twist and shout (Twist and shout) C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, baby, now (Come on baby) Come on and work it on out (Work it on out)
Justin Bieber: Baby, baby, baby OOOOOOOO
O shit, damn you guys were right, the beatles were so much better!!! Definitly not pop music for teenagers!!
"LOL BUT THE BEATLES CAN ACTUALLY PLAY DER INSTRUMENTS1@@!"
Yea like their music is so fucking complex, that totally justifies them not being derivative pop music
O, and mumford and sons fucking suck as well

O wow man, you sure showed him!!!

02:14 PM on 10/07/12 | Good for them. I've been enjoying this album a lot and it's nice to see an artist with some lyrical depth be so successful. |
Who fucking cares, lyrics arn't music, they don't justify music being good or not. They are merely an addition to the music. And musically speaking, mumford and sons music is extremely dull/lifeless and lackluster.

I read your above post. You're a fucking idiot.
Totez right lyrics don't add much to music. I mean who fucking cares what they're saying

And also, have ANGRYGREENOLIVE have you actually heard a song from them? They are very talented musicians who play very energetic catchy songs. Wouldn't consider that extremely dull/Lifeless

oh and the Beatles didn't write twist and shout. They covered it. it's a song written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell

Yes, I have. It is in no way energetic music, nor is it catchy in the slightest, and I'm a huge fan of pop music

Missing the point entirely, I can easily pick out another song by them and the same message is still there.
