Amazon has introduced a new service called Amazon AutoRip, which automatically gives customers free MP3 versions of any CDs they’ve purchased from Amazon since the launch of its Music Store back in 1998.
Interesting. I wonder what the thought process was. Ripping CDs to computers is easy enough that I would think that most people who wanted digital versions of their CDs would have done that. I guess it's good for new purchases (waiting for the CD to come in the mail)
That is a huge step. Hope it comes to the UK soon, I've lost countless CDs I've bought (i.e to ex's or when I crashed my car) that I never got round to ripping onto my computer
No shit? I've bought most of my stuff on Amazon from third-party dealers, but I'm sure I've bout a few directly from Amazon over the years. I'll check this out.
