Long Island's State Lines will be releasing its Tiny Engines debut album, For The Boats, on April 30th. It's one of my favorite releases of the young new year so far, so I'm thrilled that we get to premiere "Shady Existence," which is one of the coolest songs off the LP. The song features an awesome hip-hop intro (courtesy of Jovi) before launching into the band's brand of raw punk that's in the vein of Tigers Jaw and early Saves The Day. The band will be playing at the upcoming Today's Mixtape Festival and Stay Sweet Fest in April, so make sure you check them out there as well.

This band is so fucking strange but quite good. They hinted at a ridiculous amount of potential on Hoffman Manor, and their live show comes from the heart, so I have high hopes for this followup. I think it was Crucial Dudes or The Hotel Year that turned me onto these guys, and I couldn't be more thrilled to discover them.
trash!! absolute garbage!!! if u thought Hoffman BADnor was a terrible album JUST WAIT for Bore the Boats. Now with twice as much complaining!! It shocks me how much bitching these guys can cram into an album. The lead singer Dimitri (or Dimwitri as I like to call him) whines more than my little sister when I don't pull out. It's honestly sad. He never ceases to Tell some kid through microphone he may be a whiny little bitch but he's not alone. The only thing that saves this from topping my future Top 10 WORST State Lines song blog is the straight FIRE verse at the beginning. That flow is ridiculous. Def the highlight of the album. Fuck State lines
Verse at the start was alright but really unnecessary in my opinion haha. I enjoyed the song though, his voice has definitely matured since Hoffman Manor.
