The 85th Academy Awards are tonight at 8:30 PM EST. The gala will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane. Discuss the fashion, the nominees, the snubs, and the winners in this thread all night long. Have fun.
Lincoln was slow. I liked the fucked up love story between Bradley cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (and watching Jennifer Lawrence dance around in a low cut shirt was a nice bonus).
Beasts of the Southern Wild was my favorite movie of the year so I'm supporting all of its nominations tonight. It will have to be a miracle for it to happen, but hey!
Hard to argue with that, haha. Don't get me wrong, Lincoln had some great elements in general, and Day-Lewis is always superb, but overall it was a snoozer.
I think the majority of films nominated for Best Picture are pretty average to bad. Liked ARGO and DJANGO. As I've been saying for a while, THE MASTER, MAGIC MIKE, and LOOPER should have been nominated over junk like LES MISERABLES, LIFE OF PI, and even LINCOLN.
Not sure why but I'm feeling Amour for best picture. Not my favorite of the bunch (certainly wouldn't watch it again) but it just struck me in a powerful way.
DDL seems like the popular choice for best actor but I haven't seen Lincoln, so no comment.
Hoping for Riva for best actress, Hathaway for supporting actress, and supporting actor is tough but I loved Christoph Waltz in Django.
