The musicians of Tides Of Man have always been championed. The band's brand of post-hardcore featured a unique vocalist, but was anchored in strong instrumentals far surpassing their peers. That musical backbone is thrust into the forefront with Young & Courageous, the band's first instrumental release. It'd be silly to bemoan what once was when this new direction works so well - it's certainly a steep transition with some learning curve, but a sound Tides pulls off. Today we have "Hold Still", a booming track filled with dynamics and builds - hear it for yourself in the replies, and pre-orderYoung & Courageous before its February 4 release.
wow, so much progression instrumentally. I loved these guys when Tilian was around, and they are still killing it without him. all of the singles so far have been really enjoyable, can't wait for the entire thing to drop.
I was one of the few people who really didn't think this band would stand a chance without Tilian, or at least a frontman. After listening to this however, I can definitely change my mind. The previous few songs they've released i've felt a lack of a vocal presence, but this is the first time I feel they've proven, to me at least, that they don't need a vocalist. Congrats to them, I officially can't wait for this release. Very Post-Rock haha
