It's a shame because these guitars are so cool, but sound nothing like the originals. And the vintage pickups sell for up to $600 EACH

Damn, that is insane!!! $600 a piece!? I have seen them sell on The Gear Page for like $700 a set though, which apparently was a pretty good deal haha. I really like the guitar, it plays well and looks really cool. Who knows, if I end up really bonding with it, the sky could be the limit for mods (although, mod wise, I would have to keep it as close to vintage/stock spec as possible).

I was reading up, and apparently, they aren't even actually the same size, on top of the obvious features the pick-ups lack I have heard they are a normal size pick-up inside of the big cover, and I am guessing they have dummy pole pieces too ha. I'm not for sure how all that would work out, but if that is the case... I might have to do some p/up swapping. I don't want to change the look of the guitar at all, but I can totally justify some p/ups for this if I can get some replacements that look stock. I bet a Seymour Duncan 59' or Pearly Gates would sound great with the Tele Deluxe.

Which reminds me of my buddies guitar, he has the Little 59' in an American Standard Tele and it kicks ass. Damn it, now I've got myself thinking... :(

ps. You are the man on here for random guitar/amp knowledge for sure ha. You always post tons and tons and tons of information.

pss. Have you ever seen the Warmoth Tele Deluxe that Dustin Kensrue uses sometimes? The natural finish one? That thing kicks some serious ass, I'd love to have that. Thrice turned into HELLA gear heads on their later records.

Wish this wasn't in black and white

It pretty much looks like this, I'd love to have this

I'm pretty sure that's a Nash, Teppei uses one too but with single coils.

It's not a nash, it's a Deluxe '72 reissue. You can easily tell the difference between the two just by looking at them.

Really?

Looks like a Nash to me, bro. Based on the '72 Deluxe, it has the guts of one of those Line 6 Variax guitars or whatever.

Oh sorry, I thought you were talking about a Nashville Tele.

That's definitely NOT a Nash, they don't make a 72' Tele style guitar. It obviously does not have a the poorly done relic job that comes standard on the Nashes either haha.

It IS definitely a Warmoth guitar... http://www.warmoth.com/Stars/DustinKensrue.aspx

I have to say, after handling several Nash guitar, that I think they suck. HUGE wastes of money.

It's not a RI either, Fender never made the reissue in natural (I work for a Fender, I would of bought one by now had they haha).

Hmmm. I always assumed it was a Nash that he opted out of the worn finish on since they all seem to be using Nash guitars now - I guess not. Either way I think it's funny they used a picture of his Nash on the Warmoth bio thing.

They've always looked cool to me and I've never heard bad things about them - what was shitty about the one you checked out?

Well, the guitar shop that I work at have had them traded in before... And personally speaking, they didn't do anything for me. It was pretty obvious that the wood selections weren't NEAR as good as some of the other boutique builders. They didn't really feel alive and definitely didn't sound very musical to me.

For what those cost, there are other brands that are much better out there (like say, Vinetto, Don Grosh, Tom Anderson, Melancon, etc). If your into the worn look, I'd definitely look into a Vinetto Artifact.
