Mostly becaause people are fucking stupid and have no idea what bands are what genres and which they aren't. Like the kid who thinks Trivium is metalcore.
...have you not even heard their first two albums? They aren't the most -core of metalcore bands anymore but they definitely were at one point, and still have influences.
