i've always viewed chavez jr. as a bit of a sideshow, but he did display some real skills in the manfredo fight.
given his total lack of an amateur career and his continued progress in the pro ranks i'd say he does have the potential to be a very good (if not great) fighter.....but he still isn't anywhere close to being there at this stage of his career.
if the likes of martinez had been hitting chavez with those combinations in the 3rd (or was it 4th?) round i seriously doubt if chavez could have survived.
a chavez jr. vs alvarez fight seems all but inevitable right now.....let's just pray that top rank doesn't sit on it until it's no longer a attractive option like what happened with juanma and gamboa.
