i don't think that's a bad pick since pac/marquez was great and def gets my vote for ko of the year, but berto/guererro was 12 full rounds of intense action, and berto had to fight most of it with some bad swelling.

if i was going to pick a fight based on that criteria i'd go with rios/alvarado, but i see where you're coming from.

this year suprised me with the competitiveness of the bigger fights, cotto/mayweather in particular. it's to bad some potentially great fights were called off because of ped use though.

i predict that (provided the right fights get made) golovkin is gonna take over the middleweight division, mayweather will get his first loss, and pac will ko marquez next year.

yeah good call on rios/alvarado that fight was just as crazy
but the difference between the two fights is that general consensus on rios/alvarado was pretty much correct

while pac/marq surprised just about everyone in its conclusion with pac lying face first from a one punch KO

sounds good to me. i'd prefer it if guerrero and alvarez flipped opponents in that scenario, but i guess guerrero has done more to earn his shot at mayweather at this point.

golovkin has been a absolute beast so far in his career. i think only 3 or 4 of his fights have gone to the cards. he's not incredibly flashy, the dude just throws incredibly accurate, and powerful punches. the only downside i see on him is that he might turn out to have a weaker then suspected chin.

yeah, as much as i like guerrero i think alvarez has a better chance of beating mayweather. a somewhat faded cotto showed that it's now possible for a pressure fighter to get to mayweather.

pac was well on his way to getting an early stoppage before he got caught, and he pretty much doubled marquez in punches landed, so i'm not buying into the theory that pac has lost a step. anybody can get caught, and marquez is getting to the age where his skills could dramatically deteriorate very rapidly.

im still thinking mayweather will fight alvarez for both fights rather than guerrero. if only because fighting alvarez is a MUCH more lucrative option. especially when considering a rematch.

and i am not doubting that pacquiao has the heart or desire to avenge his loss to marquez. what i am doubting is his physical capability after experiencing a potential career ending knockout.

one fighter that comes to mind is paul williams (may he rest in peace) who was not the same after being knocked out by martinez.

mayweather is gonna make crazy money either way, and he's not known for taking any needless risks so i'm betting on guerrero getting the fight.

last nights fights were kinda lame. one horrible decision, one overmatched kid fighting a champion weakened by sickness, and one guy who knew he was way ahead on the cards quitting after getting butted in order to get an easier win.

i still think golovkin is gonna do some big things, and even though he quit to avoid having to fight salido into the late rounds i think mikey garcia is pretty damn good.

Golovkin is an absolute beast. I think he was mandatory for Geale's belt as well, not sure what happened with that.

We need the likes of Geale/Martinez/Golovkin to all fight asap. Not going to happen though knowing boxing...
