i'm 99% sure that is the only legendary difference. aside from when you encounter ho-oh/lugia, obviously.

i'm pretty stoked for hgss actually. i never had gold or silver back in the day; actually, i pretty much stopped after yellow and didn't get back into it until diamond and pearl were released.

anyone have a perfect IV mudkip they'd be willing to trade? relaxed, preferably? most of what i can offer is in wide circulation on smogon, so i'm s.o.l. there.

Ahh yes...that it does. Someday get one of those shiny Teddiursas from me. I'm running out of space in my GSC shiny box. I have some other duplicates I could give out too, after I check IVs.

i have a flawless ditto that i traded for on smogon, but whenever i try to breed a solid mudkip with it it loves giving me a 31/31/2/31/31/31 spread. it's really pissing me off.

i can't rng. i'm no good with the numbers aspect of the game.

i bred something like 8 generations of mudkips to get one with a decent stat spread. now i use it to breed with the ditto to try and get that flawless spread, but it continues to elude me.

So hey dudes. I'm trying to RNG abuse for a Suicune in Heartgold. Does anyone have any tips? The dudes on Smogon are pretty condescending for adults who competetively play pokemon.


And if I can pitch in on substitute: I run substitute on my Garchomp. When I run through the Battle subway I like to lead with my Tyranitar and follow him up with Garchomp. Sandstorm + Sand Veil + Brightpowder + Substitute is absurd.

Yeah, I've got him stationary right now. I spent about 2-3 days trying to catch a Bold one with solid IVs in HP, Def, SpDef and Speed. I've gotten nowhere. I'm gonna give the RNG thing another shot today and if I still can't get it I'll let you know where I think I'm going wrong.

I was running Fire Fang over Swords Dance on my Chomp because I had a huge Skarmory/Ferrothorn/Scizor weakness. I started using a Swampert with Scald, so I should thing about replacing Fire Fang with Swords Dance now.

Yeah, I can't imagine Gengar not being a high tier Pokemon. There would have to be some crazy change that makes ghosts useless or something.

I met up with May when I got to the department store, her team was really disappointing. Not only was it 6 on 4 in my favor, her Pokemon still weren't evolved! Come on game, make it interesting at least. I'm glad my team is done being trained, so I can roll through the rest of the story mode.



Yeah, I got into RNG abuse because soft-resetting for legendaries was such a waste of life. At least with stationary synchable legendaries you have a chance to get them via SR, as long as you don't need a good hidden power x__x...anyway, I'll do my best to field any questions you have. One word of advice, even though it's your first time trying to RNG abuse, don't settle for something that isn't perfect!

That makes sense, you can't beat Dragon/Fire/Ground coverage. Is this a singles team?

All right, so here's my issue: I've been trying to find my initial seed, but RNG finder keeps giving me a message that says something like "too many IV combinations. Try again with a higher level pokemon." My problem is that I'm playing heartgold, and I'm in Mt. Silver. I don't think there are any higher level pokemon. Is there any place that I can consistently find >50 wild pokemon?

PS yeah, it's a singles team. I was working on a Sandstorm team for singles before but I finally caught a Moltres with good enough Sp. Attack and Speed IV's, so now I'm working on a team based around setting up for a Moltres sweep. Hence my need for a perfect IV'd Suicune.
