Yeah i remember Clamp not sucking. Too bad no one ever uses it anymore. It's a Gen I move like Hyper Beam haha. I remember when Hyper Beam was all the rage. |
Well, remember Hyper Beam was glitched in the original games to where if you fainted the opposing Pokemon with it, you didn't have to recharge. I think it was fixed in Pokemon Stadium 1, because it was making me recharge the other day, but as far as I know link battles would have been a lot of weakening move + hyper beam. That's why they recommended it on so many Pokes originally, finish 'em off for no penalty was too good to pass up.
Well That's probably not too bad of a move. You lose 25 Base Power though, right? But gain that awesome accuracy. I think it's probably worth it, since Tyrantiar can dish out the damamge anyway. And yeah, that flinch gets a second free hit. I approve haha. |
For non-STAB, you kinda gotta go with Stone Edge for the power, but with T-Tar it has been working out OK. I can't stand Stone Edge's low accuracy. The problem is I need it on the other Pokes for coverage.
It really is killing me, i'm actually starting to get surprised i made it this far without one. I agree, Gliscor probably shouldn't get it. My other two Physical Attackers are Snorlax and Metagross. Man maybe i rely too much on Zapdos and Starmie. I think the answer might be getting a new lead with Taunt to be honest. One faster than Mismagus since Sub/Calm Mind has been hurting my team a lot lately. So the same lead with Crunch/Rock Slide or Stone Edge would be really handy. |
Well, if you can counter the Pokemon weak to a certain type a different way, then you probably won't notice that you are missing it. Right now you don't really have a place to put Stone Edge, but if you have ThunderPunch and Ice Punch on Metagross, that does cover most things weak to Rock. It just doesn't cover them simultaneously, you'll have to know what's coming in. However, since you have both punches, just alternating them would undoubtedly catch someone off guard.
I rely a lot on Zapdos myself, it is a Pokemon with great value. When it gets exploded on, I get really mad. Yes, it's one of my Metagross checks/counters, but it still sucks. That's one of the reasons I use Gyarados though, because I can't have Scizor and friends going on a rampage if Zapdos is to get blown up on. Protect on Zapdos would be clutch, but it would require a lot of prediction, and I'd miss out on Thunder Wave, which cripples common switch ins like Latias and Rotom.
I haven't been on Shoddy, but Mismagius appearing is pretty interesting. The best thing to do is just pummel it with Dark attacks like Pursuit or Crunch. I remember your Snorlax having Fire Punch, but not Crunch, right? I wouldn't recommend no STAB since you don't have Curse. Personally I'd probably use Tyranitar or Scizor to kill Missy. You could go back to Aero lead maybe, but it wouldn't fit that great with what you have going on now. Tyranitar can Taunt/Stone Edge, but he's slow, so he'll only Taunt stuff like Swampert, Bronzong, and maybe Gross if you invest in speed.
Taunt owns with i predict right. Sending Gliscor in isn't fun though. |
nananananananana nananananananana Batman
OKay it had to have been a CH since i tried the same thing again and it was a 2HKO the next time around haha. |
Gotcha, that sounds more reasonable. Still a useful 2HKO, since most Bronzong can't do much to Zapdos except Screen or Explode.
Oh really? Well that's excellent news! My original first UU team has a few pokes done, so i can finish that up perhaps? Although i'm really busy lately packing up and preparing to leave. |
Well, I wouldn't worry about it if you don't have the time. When are you leaving?
It doesn't add coverage but Dragon Pulse can hit Dragons. I don't know how much harder, but he resists them with Steel typing, just gotta watch for those Fire Blasts. |
Yeah, Dragon Pulse is a pretty good filler move in general.
I like Meganium too much to not use him haha. Maybe a Grass could work as your ?. Or Clefable! Yeah! Clefable! |
Oh yeah, Clefable would be awesome. The trouble will be finding room for it. Fortunately it DOES get about every special attack in the game xD
But when will you have access to Mismagius? Depends on when you get the National Dex and all, doesn't it? |
Well, I was gonna trade over a Misdreavus holding a Dusk Stone, do you think I won't be able to evolve it? I'll have to check on that before I decide on my team. A ghost type would be nice, but Misdreavus won't cut it.
Missy with Nasty Plot?!? now that is so crazy. And Feraligatr with a priority move just is mean haha. |
Yeah there are a few other interesting ones too, like Recover Quagsire. I think we're still waiting on all the Move Tutors, though. Those ones I have mentioned are HG/SS egg moves.
I was considering, but when he sent out Aerodactyl i decided to knock him down, then he sent in Latias who was already Toxic'd, so i went with it. |
That's awesome, I may have to forego HP Electric for Toxic on the Vaporeon I am about to EV train. Still wrestling with the spread, though. 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpA sounds fine, but I wonder about 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpD, 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA, 188 HP / 252 Def / x SpA / x SpD, etc...if the first one works for you, I guess I may as well go for it. You also have that S/T Snorlax, but I just EV trained mine to be a Curselax. I don't have a Status Absorber on my team, which is sometimes annoying. I could have made a S/T Gyarados I suppose, but the ability to Taunt is very important, and DD is much more threatening (although Bulky Gyara has relatively little power, haha).
