Not sure. I'm just saying I've been trying it for a while and no luck. I'm talking about the chance here. If anyone can give me a reputable number, I'd appreciate that. They range from normal chance to 1/8th.

I pulled this from the best guide I know of, Donald's FAQ on GameFAQs. All his other stuff is pretty legit so I assume this is right:

Now, it's kicking &*( and taking names as a L40, Thunderpunch/Ice Punch Electabuzz. And I use it to great effect when laying a beat down on the Elite 4.

Just in case you were wondering, here are the DV details for Gen II shiny Pokemon, I had forgotten the particulars myself except that Def/SpA/Speed are locked at 10.

True, it is definitely the best Gen III game. I still don't like it that much, but at least it does have some cool features, and the ability to get a Latias that doesn't totally suck.

It sucks, but they look so cool on Pokemon Stadium 2. I don't care that much about their stats because I won't be using them competitively.

To the right of the city, you can get Ralts. Just raise that a bit until it's evolved and fast and it'll be able to take out Haunter for you.

For the others, Flying/Normal should be able to do some damage.

I actually just got past it. Leveled up my Prinplup to 30 and it helped loads. My team was far too evenly leveled and I hadn't gotten anyone to where they were powerhouse enough. He handled it all alone with bubblebeam, didn't even have to switch him out. Haunter was a cinch, it was the one with magical leaf that was slaughtering me because my three highest levels are Shellos, Prinplup and Bronzor. Thanks for the advice though ;)

Yeah, if you had bronzor, I would have used that. I always have a good psychic or dark move by that time in the game, but it's also good to have an elemental beast, like your starter.

I've used him some, but he kept falling really quickly to magical leaf. Either way - I'm past it now and I'm gonna work on getting my togepi to evolve.

I've already beaten all of the trainers/gyms in Diamond, and my team is as follows:

Dialga - 55
Staraptor - 41
Floatzel - 43
Roserade - 45
Luxray - 49
Infernape - 47

I've taken on the Elite 4 and got Cynthia down to her final Pokemon, but my team still isn't enough; where can I go to train more? Just wilds on Victory Road? I have the National Dex.

I'm working on the same thing on my emerald. Just my luck, I have two pokemon who happiness evolve. I'm also trying to get espeon at he same time. You get them both so early, I thought I'd just roll with it, but now I'm having a hard time deciding which one to evolve first.

It'd be really messed up if I was trying to get crobat at the same time.

I'm working on three happiness evolves haha. Togepi, Budew, and Chingling.

Both Chingling and Togepi are at 2 hearts on the Poketch but i don't know how much further they can actually go.

Let me know what you end up getting. I believe the best DV spread for a shiny is 08/15/10/10/10, which outside of the restricted speed isn't that bad. Of course, you could get like 08/02/10/10/10 xD

Indeed, maybe someday I'll breed a few shinies using my Blue Ditto. Seems like a big project for little glory, though.

Guess I'm just not that into Gen III, but Crystal is amazing and the Gen IV games are quite good as well so I can't argue too much with that. I don't really care for FR/LG, but can't win 'em all.

Victory road is OK for stuff like Floatzel, otherwise I'd recommend trying to use your Vs Seeker if you can. The trainers to the West of Sunyshore city have a lot of stuff you can rematch against, and mostly they stay in the 40s. There is one trainer that gets up to ~L60 with a Pelipper and Mantine, but Luxray can destroy those for lots of EXP. A lot of the Fishermen have Gyarados which is $$$. There are also some good rematches to the South of Veilstone, especially the first Psychic trainer. You probably don't need too many more levels, just try to get most of your guys up to L50 or so and you should be okay.

When the two hearts start out small but get bigger and bigger, that's when you are ready to evolve. Once you see it, you'll know haha.
