Barney and Robin get married on next year's season finale
All the while, Ted has been avoiding Robin until the moment the bride requests to see him

Why might she be requesting to see him after all this time? Well, Ted made this promise a while back to be Robin's best man....and she needs him now.

That all being said, it would be incredibly difficult to keep Robin and Ted apart for that long, and it would also be a little sad considering next season just might be the last. I do like what they're doing with Ted and Robin though because it feels much more real to me than I often see in sitcoms. Being around your ex is not always so easy.

Some might say they're addressing Ted and Robin's issues a little too late, but I suppose it's better late than never. While this episode was a bit short on the gut busters, they did have some good jabs, but I found the overall episode more about moving the plot along. It'd be interesting if the show writers showed Barney's engagement to Quinn in the finale, then "BOOM' flash forward, Robin's the bride.

Great episode. Really enjoyed it. It was kind of predictable, but when Barney went, "What would get you to stop stripping?" I was all oooohhhhh daaamnnn. I love how the writers can at times really get me hanging by a thread in excitement.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm expecting. Bait and switch. They've done that quite a bit this season.

I agree about Ted and Robin. I'm glad it's finally come up even if it's taken this long.

What has really got me puzzled is what's about to happen between Ted and Robin. Why was that the last time they see each other for awhile? The only reason I could think of, would be that when Robin and Barney announce that they are getting married, Ted goes away for awhile because he can't handle that.

Which also leads me to believe that when we saw the flash forward of the wedding day and the bride asks to see Ted before the wedding, that it will be the first time that they see each other since that moment at the bar.

The only problem being, obviously, Quinn. How does she get so close to Barney, move in with him, only to eventually be out of the picture, and replaced with Robin.

Well, for that I have a couple theories too.

Remember in the very beginning of the season? When they had that flash forward to Marshall and Barney at the casino?

I feel like that scene is upon us. Maybe Barney and Quinn get engaged, and they are out celebrating, when he receives a phone call that ultimately leads to the reason that they are no longer together. But then I wonder, why isn't Ted there? Which again, leads me back to my Robin theory. Barney & Robin get engaged, and Ted wanders off because he can't handle it. Maybe Barney is on the phone with Ted, and the look on his face is because he's in shock that he's actually calling. But I still wonder how Quinn is going to get out of this picture. Or I could be completely wrong. I'm making myself go crazy with theories over here. How many episodes is this season?

This had to happen before what's going on right now because Barney's wearing the duck tie. Didn't he get rid of it earlier this season?

Yeah, I know. The duckie tie completely throws me off. But they never discussed what this scene meant, so it definitely hasn't happened yet. Maybe he makes another bet where he has to wear the tie again? I don't know. The whole things confusing to me, and I hate that we need to wait four more weeks to find out.

They could do a thing where Ted only later realizes he should have told his kids that part of the story, before moving forward, sort of like what they did with the goat, and how they revealed that Lily would be eventually pregnant.I always find it cool when shows go out of order in the narrative on purpose.
