Personally I'd rank them like this (best to average): Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs, Killing Yourself to Live, IV, Downtown Owl, Fargo Rock City (Haven't read Eating the Dinosaur yet). That's basically the same order I read them in too, just switch Killing Yourself to Live and IV.
I don't know what you mean by releasing them in order, since you don't need to read Fargo Rock City or Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs in order to understand the ones released later on.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for ranking them, seeing as I plan on buying the next book based on how I feel about Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs. I didn't mean in order as in series, I meant in order of their release dates. I wanted feedback as to how people that have read all of them would rank them, rather than someone telling me to "just read them in order of their release."

I just finished The Wild Things. I did enjoy it, but I don't think I liked how the wild things could talk. It just felt wrong, I always imagined them as silent for some reason. I did like how the narration was based a lot on what Max was feeling himself, and his perception of the world around him.

I started The Color Purple on Friday.

Oh ok gotcha. I think all of them are worth a read, as long as you enjoy Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs, obviously. I ranked Fargo Rock City last because it focused on heavy metal music and I am neither knowledgeable nor a huge fan of that music. But I'm sure I'm not exactly his intended audience.

Yeah the guy that helped me at B&N told me he didn't enjoy it that much either. He also said he didn't enjoy IV very much, but enjoyed the rest of his stuff. He couldn't explain why, he said it had very similar style, but something just didn't click to him.

I'm currently reading Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson. I wasn't into it much at first but it's starting to grow on me. I'm only halfway done but parts of the book have already made me tear up a little. Really enjoying it.

Over halfway through Under the Dome now. I will start the next segment, "Salt", next.

This book has kept me more than entertained up until this point. I just have a feeling my love for the book will hinge on the end. Hope it's not a disappointment.

Manhood for Amateurs by Michael Chabon

I can't wait to read this over Christmas break. I read Yiddish Policemen's Union a month ago and had an absolute blast with it. Love Chabon - one of the great contemporary writers.

Infinite Jest- by David Foster Wallace. Has anyone read it? I read it because a past teacher suggested it, but no one else I know has read it, and I really want to know what other people think about it.
