Its all about writting, you can have one-off episodes and still not make the episodes feel like they were written in a 'paint by number' sort of formate. Acting, characters, subject...I had no problem with the show. But the writting was very weak, reminded me alot of the Beast from last summer in terms of written quality.

But it was only one epsiode.

well the episode was taken from Leonard's book, down to most of the dialogue even and Elmore Leonard is more than just a paint by the numbers author. to me, nothing about the episde seemed formulaic.

either we watched something different, or you're more forgiving than I. but that was about as basic as tv story telling gets. the viewer could pretty much outline exactly how everything was gonna go before it happened....I can't say that I'm really impressed by that, even if I happen to like the show.

well i could tell from the preview that this was going to be a show in the same vein as the shield and sons of anarchy. it's not trying to be a mad men. it's more about attitude and swagger and just a show about a badass doing and saying badass stuff. i think it accomplished what it set out to do very well.

Yeah, the episode was very true to Leonard's story. If you thought it was poorly written then blame him.

I don't know why, but this show has a fresh feel, even all it doesn't seem that new, def. need to watch the pilot
