Just saw this on tumblr:
Curious about what the fence-jumping joke will be like in "The World's End"?
In Shaun of the Dead, we had Shaun jump over it, only to fall. In Hot Fuzz, Nick Angel jumped over them all with incredible skill while Danny ran into one and broke it. What can the next joke be like? Any theories? Do you think there will be one?
Thought it was funny because I never noticed, but I'll be on the lookout once this movie comes out |
Pegg has basically stated there will be no in-jokes, references or ties like there were in those two movies, that it's more of a stand alone filmd so as not to seem like a gimmick but is tied in the fact that
Shaun was about evolution,
Hot Fuzz about devolution and this about "Revolution" in some way.
Quote:
| Edgar Wright and I] make comedies and both love genre cinema but neither Shaun Of The Dead or Hot Fuzz are parodies. The World's End isn't a send up in any way, in fact, we've gone out of our way not to populate the film with references to other movies, in order to avoid that label. |
Interview is
here.
Also, that exact spot where they are all drinking is where I spent my birthday a few years ago in Camden at...The World's End pub.
