love this band.

although i loved this bands older material…

maybe he realized this band will prob go nowhere, and needs to pay his bills.

Getting out of that band sounds like a wise decision.

Rough, but true statement. It always seemed like this band could never garner enough attention to stay relevant for more than 2 months at a time. I didn't even know they were still a band, liked them back in the day.

man, some of you guys on here can really be brutal... you may not love or even like what these guys do, but bands that have been around as long as monty have actually put in some pretty serious dues and these guys in particular are some of the nicest and hardest working ones, mike included. it's too bad that pretty much the only bands that are getting big these days don't have a clue what hard work (and in a lot of cases, talent) really means.

i hope these dudes can keep things going in mike's absence. i for one loved the new record.

best dudes in music. sledge will be missed.

ditto everything Jeff just said. these guys are incredibly hard workers and definitely talented. it's tough being a musician right now, or being involved in music in general. it seems like to stay relevant or get attention as a band now, you have to have a gimmick, which i personally can't stand. it's sad to see so many bands break up that really are making great music. i wish them the best of luck and hope that the band can stay together despite Mike leaving!
