I love Jets to Brazil more than I can possibly express. Once I met Blake after a forgetters show in RI. It was super awkward. It was also the Best Day Ever
What was awkward about the meeting? Just curious.
Anyways, love this band. I don't think their last 2 albums get enough love. Perfecting is a great record.
I'd love one of these for Dear You. Criminally underrated. Love the mention in Lagwagon's I Must Be Hateful.
"Dear You, the vinyl it was blue. Stalking poor Blake commiserating drunks at sea. Do you remember when Jawbreaker rocked the boat? I'm sure you do, and don't".

Haha, I think both of us were just bad at social situations with complete strangers. There were a bunch of awkward pauses. Also much of my attention was going towards keeping my fanboy self from freakin out
I think what was so great about Jets To Brazil was how EASY they made the transition from Jawbreaker's break-up for me. I was wrecked when my all-time favorite band broke up and I remember hearing about Blake's new project and becoming excited and skeptical all at once. I was a writer at the time and got an advance of "Orange Rhyming Dictionary" from Tim at Jade Tree sent to me, and the fact that the record sounded like Jawbreaker but didn't really sound like Jawbreaker made me ecstatic and fall in love with the group immediately. Seeing them live cemented it for me. I thought it was great that they played off of the more subtle parts of the first record and really honed their sound on the next two records. They could do no wrong in my opinion. And whenever one of Blake's new endeavors actually releases a new record or plays my town, I'm sure it will be fantastic too. Dude has the benefit of the doubt from me for life.
This is probably a very unpopular opinion, but this has always been my favorite Blake Schwarzenbach group. I've put Sweet Avenue on more mixtapes than I can remember.
