According to a survey by the NPD Group, LimeWire users account for 58 percent of the people who said they downloaded music from a peer-to-peer service last year.
I'll admit to using Limewire in like 2004. But who the hell was using it last year?!
how exactly does winning a case like this work? who has all of Limewire's money? And since it can't be $1.5 trillion, what good does winning for that much do?
Limewire will just go bankrupt and not pay it. The RIAA is doing a ridiculously terrible job in these lawsuits. I don't understand the point of suing for such absurd amounts of money when they won't collect any of it. In some cases the RIAA is suing for $150,000 per song. Are you kidding me? Oh and how much of that money does the artist actually see? I'm willing to bet nothing.
