While I don't listen to this band, their explanation does make me think. Would you be mad if your favorite band quit for that reason? It seems reasonable considering they said they were in the band to express themselves artistically through music (no mention of money). They said what they wanted to say, and do what they wanted to do. I respect that.
Who DID NOT see this coming? It was so obvious. They obviously did everything they could do without turning in a stinker and people with intregrity call it quits while they are ahead.
I think parts of the band are going to turn in some weird-ass experimental record in a year or two. It will probably be pretty good too.
Good a reason as any to call it a day. Some bands keep staggering on past that point, and just tread water for years. Very respectable of Isis to know when to bow out gracefully.
