It's more about the bands I don't want to see.

I love Bamboozle; finding new bands is the best part. I don't want to see bands I love at Bamboozle, because it usually means shortened setlists / ruined tours since the band can't play a proper NYC/NJ date if they do Bamboozle.

That being said, here are bands that should not be at Bamboozle because they are awful:

3OH3
A Day to Remember
Attack Attack
Blood on the Dance Floor
Breathe Carolina
Breathe Electric
Bring Me the Horizon
Brokencyde
Cash Cash
Crash Romeo
Emmure
Escape the Fate
Family Force 5
Forever the Sickest Kids
Hawthorne Heights
Hey Monday
Hollywood Undead
Hyper Crush
I Set My Friends On Fire
LMFAO
Metro Station
Millionaires
NeverShoutNever
Of Mice and Men
Pierce the Veil
Senses Fail
Sing it Loud
Stereo Skyline
The Friday Night Boys
The Maine
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
The Used
We the Kings

Bands that should be there. The three criteria:

1) Anyone that Bamboozle convinces to reunite. It worked for Face to Face; Piebald; Something Corporate. Good catalyst that often sparks more dates.

2) Small, upcoming bands. Give them a shot.

3) Good bands that aren't using Bamboozle as their NYC/NJ stop.
Another criteria for bands on Bamboozle is that they should probably not be broken up like a few on that list.

smart move on their part after the failure that was last year, I'm sure they are trying to get everyone's opinion so they get more attendees. That being said, in retrospect it is very weird to think that Brand New played at Bamboozle

They did this last year too, except you had to email them instead of fill out of form. Sure there will be a mix of good bands and shit as always.

who the hell cares? its going to be the same old shitty bands that have played the last few years. bamboozle is a joke now a days. %60 of the line up stays the same every year. and what happened with bringing skate and surf back? only way I would go to bamboozle this year is if they had a Midtown reunion or blink played.

YES!

Edit: I don't agree with everything, but I like what you're thinking.

It's easier for a smaller band like that to not use Bamboozle as their NYC/NJ date. There are 90 mile/90 day (or something similar area/time wise) clauses in most bigger band's contracts saying that bands can't play within that set area/time to make sure ticket sales aren't affected.

Eh, the out-clause rule doesn't usually bother me as most bands find a way around it or announce a show later in the year. It's only when they use Bamboozle as part of a tour that it gets annoying. Sort of like what happened with the Thrice/Circa Survive tour in '08.

Right.

I know the reasoning, but it's a shame when Bamboozle swallows a great tour (like Thrice, as Phil mentioned). Thrice was awesome at 2008 Bamboozle, but if you wanted to see them proper on The Alchemy Index and you lived in NYC, you were shit out of luck. So I wish they weren't there at Bamboozle.

yea, but this past year (for Left, not Right) was absolutely horrible, they couldn't really even pull in any big names that were worthy. I know it hurt ticket sales on this coast

You are a God damned moron.

I just checked -- 3% of Bamboozle was the same from 2010 and 2009.

"Skate and Surf" is a name.

The festival is largely the same as it has been, only run much, much smoother under the "Bamboozle" name at a much better venue.
