Sounds like a pretty cool concept, actually. Looking forward to hearing more of it.

I thought this up while I was in class the other day. A band records 4 or 5 songs and releases an EP on the day of the seasonal change, i.e. first day of fall, winter, spring, and summer. Kind of like how Mae did the (M)orning, (A)fternoon, and (E)vening EP's. So, in the end, you've got 20 songs or so, and each EP is themed to fit the mood of the season (Fall's EP would be very dreary, Winter EP acoustic, Spring and Summer EP very poppy). It'd be a daunting challenge for a band to write and record 4 or 5 songs before each seasonal change (financially speaking, if the band were to be signed to a label. Otherwise, some home production could make the task either simpler or more difficult depending on the band's experience.) I hope this makes sense, but it's just an idea I had in my head. If I wrote more music/had a band, I'd like to give something like that a try.

Might be worth a try after the six or so EP's I've now heaped on my plate. Haha.

Haha, do it. I'd like to see an idea like that come to fruition, because, like I said, I don't write much music/have a band/have time to record my own music (in a good fashion, at least).

It'd take a lot of dabbling in genres, too. I imagined it like, Autumn EP would be Deja Entendu feeling. Winter EP would be a lot of acoustics, brushed snares, etc. Spring EP kind of like fun.'s Aim & Ignite and Panic at the Disco's Pretty Odd, and Summer EP would be very surf rock oriented, a la early Beach Boys or Jack's Mannequin-esque. Or, at least, if I had the talent, that's the direction I'd take.

Haha, not a chance. Honestly, too self conscious to record any of my own songs for anyone other than me or my cousin to hear (my cousin and I have a "makeshift band," as we call it. It's pretty much me playing acoustic, and him doing 99% of the singing. I just do subtle harmonies and a lead every now and then.) Plus, at least in this point of my life, I'm probably too one dimensional when it comes to writing music. I'd need to study/read up a lot on making said genres. But, my cousin and I do want to eventually record some sort of self produced EP (done in GarageBand, haha). I imagine that at some point, after recording it a million times, I'll find it acceptable to let people close to me hear it, at least, haha. But, as for now, the recordings are mostly one take type things, and awful quality. It's just for experience and practice's sake, though.

But, I'd be game for a Chris Cleary project like that, or a H,IH. Just saying, haha.

I want to hear it when you get there.

And there will be plenty of music coming out of my various projects soon. I think the first EP will be up next weekend. And a full concert of mine should be on youtube a week later.

Jon Foreman already beat you to it..and his EP's are incredible.
I would say get all of them..but if you want an intro, there's a "best of" named Limbs and Branches.

Yeah, but his EPs are very loosely season-based. Each one is named after a season, was released then, and has a cover relating back to the season, but I don't think any of the songs really connect all that much to the theme sonically or lyrically.

I haven't listened to every Taylor Swift song, but the music that I have heard from her has an effect on me that I can't describe. I SHOULD think her songs are cheesy and stupid. The lyrics are pretty simple, but I can relate to them because of said simplicity. She can make the pop-country innocent thing work, in my opinion. then again, I'm just a 15year old girl.
