fuck you, i said i liked your review, i'm very happy with the amount of music i listen to, probably too much, my 60GB IPOD is full
That's a cool story. Didn't mean to offend you, I just think that if those are your favorite records of the year you're probably missing out on some great stuff.

thanks my stories are always cool
i hear plenty of different music on triple j here in oz, every genre indie, dance, blues and roots, hip hop, punk and metal, and they were my 2 fave, i like what i like, AOTY for me is favourite, not best, besides, not enough people have heard Amity outside of Aust. to judge it
#3 is two door cinema club for me and i usually hate indie with a passion
not much tickled my fancy this year anyway

Pretty much agree with the review although I really miss the For Those Who Have Heart sound.
Yep. We all do. They let it go to their heads

I don't think I could miss it more. That album was ridiculously fun and good. This one? Eh.

No. I like the song... but that's because it sounds like good ol' ADTR. I'm not a fan of their poppier sound. They need a kick to their music to make them stand out, and they used to have it. But this pop side, although I agree with Thomas ''isn't bad'', I personally think they blend into mediocrity with it.

"2nd Sucks" isn't all that bad...I like their heavier sound as well and I think it's welcome on the record especially since there are a few poppier tracks....I just think it could have been executed better.

Much better music has come out this year. Four Year Strong did this genre better in March.

Your opinion.

Having said that, I've never understood the comparisons between those two. Blending a heavier sound with a poppier sound does not, by any stretch of the imagination, always result in the same sound. Can two bands following that formula sound alike? Absolutely, but I don't think it applies here at all.

Let's take, for example, a track that from each album that represents each band and their respective sound. How about we go with "Nineteen With Neck Tatz" (a pop-punk song that incorporates hardcore elements) from Enemy of the World, and "You Be Tails, I'll Be Sonic" (a combination of pop-punk and metalcore) from What Separates Me From You? Does that sound fair?

Do those two songs sound at all alike to you? I didn't think so.

I'm not trying to knock you, your opinion, or this review, I just completely disagree with that statement.

good review as always. I think you were too harsh there, though, but I totally understand why.

I've always liked their poppier side better, so this one suits perfectly for me, and even though they're some steps below FYS (my favourite of the year), I think this one deserves a little bit better than 75%! Somehow what seemed to me at first like a 3/4 good songs album really grew on me and now I pretty much enjoy everything on it.

anyway, I've really enjoyed this 2010. FYS, Circa, Chiodos, ADTR and a new Silverstein EP on the way \m/

That's what I think as well, and that's why I like that song. I prefer their heavier sound, even though they show some improvements in their pop style, for example in the back vocals of the pre-chorus in "It's complicated"...I guess Chad Gilbert left his trace here and there.
Anyway, this doesn't change the fact that I've been listening to this record non-stop for days...
