Awful list. Petrino and Urban are about the only ones I agree with. This is supposed to be of all time or current? I mean, has anybody really "hated" Spurrier since his Florida days? I dunno, he doesn't seem like such a bad guy these days. And I've never had a beef with Tressel. Even post-scandal, he is still alright.
How is Saban not on this thing? Everyone hates him so much. He's got to be one of the most hated (but well respected) man in the history of NCAA football. There was a poll a year or two ago where he was the most hated white man in all of sports. The other guys were like Kobe, Terrell Owens, Lebron, Tiger Woods, and a few others. haha. |
I'll agree with you that this list is awful, but the list is considered all-time. Meyer and Petrino are givens, but Spurrier doesn't make sense. I mean yeah, back in the 90's the rest of the SEC hated him, but outside the conference nobody cared. Besides, I have no problem with him at South Carolina.
I can see why Tress made the list. He's tied for first in BCS appearances, went to back-to-back championship games and got killed, his teams were basically pre-season top 5 every year, and was responsible for Terrelle Pryor and tattgate. That last reason alone is why I can't stand Tressell.
Without question, Saban should be top 5 or 3. The guy wins everywhere, and there are still haters that bring up the whole Dolphins exit situation. I could argue for Stoops, too. If this were a present day list, Brett Bielema is getting my first place vote.
