Not surprised a bit to see three Ohio State head coaches on this list. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/po...-hated-coaches

I not exactly sure why Steve Spurrier is the most hated coach, or why Rich Rod is even on it. I'm also surprised Bear Bryant and Nick Saban didn't make the cut as well.

Awful list. Petrino and Urban are about the only ones I agree with. This is supposed to be of all time or current? I mean, has anybody really "hated" Spurrier since his Florida days? I dunno, he doesn't seem like such a bad guy these days. And I've never had a beef with Tressel. Even post-scandal, he is still alright.

How is Saban not on this thing? Everyone hates him so much. He's got to be one of the most hated (but well respected) man in the history of NCAA football. There was a poll a year or two ago where he was the most hated white man in all of sports. The other guys were like Kobe, Terrell Owens, Lebron, Tiger Woods, and a few others. haha.

DID YOU KNOW THAT: Avoiding throwing any interceptions and managing to not play like a dumbass for one full game made A.J. McCarron single-handedly jump from being nothing special to being the next Peyton Manning? Thanks, ESPN/Bama fans.

The AJ McCarron/Peyton Manning comparisons are absurd.

Manning didn't win a championship. ;)

Nor will he be a shift supervisor at 7/11 in ten years.

I'll agree with you that this list is awful, but the list is considered all-time. Meyer and Petrino are givens, but Spurrier doesn't make sense. I mean yeah, back in the 90's the rest of the SEC hated him, but outside the conference nobody cared. Besides, I have no problem with him at South Carolina.

I can see why Tress made the list. He's tied for first in BCS appearances, went to back-to-back championship games and got killed, his teams were basically pre-season top 5 every year, and was responsible for Terrelle Pryor and tattgate. That last reason alone is why I can't stand Tressell.

Without question, Saban should be top 5 or 3. The guy wins everywhere, and there are still haters that bring up the whole Dolphins exit situation. I could argue for Stoops, too. If this were a present day list, Brett Bielema is getting my first place vote.

If he's the shift supervisor, what will JaMarcus Russel be?

Why Stoops, not sure I have heard many compelling reasons to hate him?

Some of the names are obvious on the list but its a bit head scratching at times. Spurrier is weird given its based off two decades ago (and maybe Redskins fans opinions) and its not really a hate that has carried on. If someone is going to 1 on the list, you'd think it'd be a guy still disliked. Tressel is a pick caught up in the current day narrative, but his legacy will not be hated, except by UM fans. RichRod seems odd because it's basically WVU fans feeling betrayal, and the rest of the country shrugging their shoulders.

Oh no. He's not smart enough to become a supervisor.

No one's pretending JJ was gonna be good enough to win a Heisman. Can't say the same for McCarron.

lol. Who is saying he's going to win the Heisman? The only thing I've ever read about AJ and his Heisman chances was an article about an oddsmaker giving him a 30:1 shot.

But why does a Heisman run seem so far fetched to you? You really think he peaked during his first year starting? He had the highest completion % in the entire conference last year. Doesn't throw many interceptions. Will play on an elite team. Will only improve after an impressive sophomore campaign. Not saying he's the best athlete or QB out there, but he could very well be a candidate if things fall into place.

It'd be ridiculous if he got Heisman consideration with the type of stats he puts up. Calling him the 3rd best player on your team would be an insult to the defense. It's the same here. A bunch of dipshits showed up to The Worst Thing I've Ever Seen wearing "Jarrett Lee for MVP" stickers on their shirts. Saying that an A.J. McCarron or a Jarrett Lee is the most important player on your team is absurd. That's why a Heisman run seems far fetched to me. There's such a huge difference between an above average SEC quarterback (which McCarron is and Lee was not) and a guy like Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley that deserve consideration.

But I'm just talking about ESPN and the like saying that Alabama's offense is going to be better than it was last year. You lost the top running back in the nation to the draft, and the offense is going to improve because A.J. McCarron had a few good summer workouts? I don't see it. If it's week 7 or 8 and he's one of the top QBs in the nation in terms of passing yards, feel free to say I told you so.

IMO, Rich Rod was more stupid than hated. I guess I would rather see guys like Pete Carroll, Gary Barnett, and Nick Saban on this list than guys who aren't unanimously hated around the country.

I wish Gene Chizik was on there, I hate him. Can't we also just add the University of Florida? I'm pretty sure everyone hates them too.

Thank you. This guy just walks around with such a smug face and an undeserved sense of accomplishment. I won't even go into detail about how ridiculous his shirt is...

I don't feel like this guy is famous enough or even worthy of the "most hated" title. Everyone is aware that he's a joke.

Gene Chizik is the worst.

Does anyone here actually have one of those stupid ESPN Insider accounts?
