"I remember how shitty it was when your favorite pop punk band went from putting out a record you loved to putting out a weird jazz fusion record. I also remember how shitty it was when your favorite pop punk band released the same record twice in a row. We knew we didn’t want to do either of those things so we set out to make a record that stayed grounded in pop punk but stretched itself in new directions."
