I dunno, I always read this about British bands, it doesn't surprise me at all. We've probably had more intense exposure for a longer period of time with this band and others that are in the same situation (Biffy Clyro, for example) so it makes sense really. That and the affiliation with the "Britishness" of the bands themselves be it the sound, the references or just that they are from here means they tend to do well and play bigger venues here.

I've always assumed Arctics doing 2,000 capacity venues in the US is actually pretty impressive?

Yeah agreed, wasn't trying to play that down in my response to the original post.

Will be getting a ticket for this. New album should translate live well I think.

truth, better english bands (blur, stone roses) couldn't bring in the people that the monkeys do here.

I don't think they're going to sell out those arenas.
