The Victim Of… - Machete Pop
Release Date: June 7, 2005
An Orange County punk-pop group. Sorry, no funny quips here, nothing really defines them. “See, Bill, I told you. All those stupid remarks were meant to be jokes.”
How Is It?
Machete Pop was produced and mixed by the band. But at 15 songs, things tend to get very repetitive. Listeners with some optimism (what’s that?) and a free afternoon will be treated to decent, bouncy bass, angular riffs and lovingly off-key vocal harmonies. Songs make good use of both vocalists’ high-pitched, youthful (see: immature) deliveries. “26 Miles To Truth Or Consequences” combines all the elements together most efficiently. However, it’s the last song on the album. Those with tighter schedules shouldn’t break any appointments for The Victim Of…

I have listened to this band since they released I'm Missing You Already. I liked that album a lot more than Machete Pop. A fun pop punk record though. Pretty decent guitar riffs on both albums though. Nice Review!
