Lighten up, Morrissey.

This was a great read. I respect Morissey a lot and believe that most of what he is saying here is true. I can't believe a label won't sign him. His solo stuff just keeps getting better and from a business standpoint, ANY Morissey record is going to sell way more than some no-name band.

P.s. Morissey's solo stuff is so much better than the Smiths.

A call out to American Dreams label to sign him up perhaps?

I could honestly see Epitaph signing Morrissey only because they have signed a lot of "older" bands who have already established themselves in the "scene" (Thursday, Every Time I Die, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory).

yea but Morrissey is on another level than like NFG or ETID.

oh definitely, I was thinking about adding that in, that there's Morrissey and then there's everyone else haha. But I mean, sounds like he just wants a decent label to back him up. Epitaph could definitely do that.

well, he's been in the industry 25 years, put out classic records, and now no one wants him...I'd feel a little jaded myself

haha Morrissey has been a downer/jaded dude forever. It's part of the appeal.

I don't think I love anything the way that some people love Morrissey.

I see what you're saying, but a better example of Epitaph signing older bands is the fact that Wayne Kramer of MC5 was a part of label operations for a while. Hell, Vagrant releases solo records from Paul Westerberg - that could be a fit.
