If people really think this sounds like Sunny Day Real Estate I guess I should start looking into trying to get into Sunny Day Real Estate again.
I was just reminded of it with some of the riffs/melodies

Very nice - I'm in love with this record. I'd add Balance & Composure to RIYL
typo here FYI - "Basement are not exactly inspiring or written anything"
and I have never listened to B&C...I shall look into that.

Ha, I liked the closing of the review a lot.
Edit: I've said this so many times now but i'll say it again. I don't normally listen to this genre but I really, really love this band.
It's really the first time in years that a band in this genre has grabbed me this much.

Yeah, I think so too, TF never really got me hooked.

It's strange that anyone would like this but not Title Fight. They're coming from vastly similar places and though the execution is only somewhat different, it's both high-quality.
Second pair of Hot Water Music and Crime in Stereo references I've seen with this album. I could halfway understand HWM, but this realllllly doesn't sound at all like CiS to me.
HWM and CIS were more vocally then anything.

aye, its a pain. was going to make a new profile but i remember having difficulties with other bands that share parts of their names...

Not given it a lot of time yet - I'll check it out properly soon.

great review alex, agree with everything you said. love this album. i can see the similarities between title fight and basement(similar lyrics and vocals), but they each have their own distinct sound in my opinion.
thank you! glad you enjoy the album.
