- One of my favorite levels of all time, City Escape, has been announced for Sonic Generations. A bittersweet feeling, really. Also, in ground breaking new developments from Sonic Team, old Sonic fans are 'hard to please.'

MICROSOFT

- A patch for Mortal Kombat's online play will be released August 9th.

SONY

- Band Hero developer Activision is being sued by Adam Levine for using his likeness for their game without his permission. Attention rockstars: READ THE FINE PRINT.

- Twisted Metal, originally with an October 4th release date, has been pushed back to 'next year.'

- Check out the Skyrim pre order bundle. It's pretty swee-HOLY SH*T IT'S A F*CKING DRAGON.

- BloodRayne: Betrayal, which looks fucking awesome, has been delayed on PSN until October 3rd.

- New Batman outfits as DLC for Arkham City. Check out the Batman Beyond threads.

- Did you get Catherine yet? Because it sold 200,000 copies in its first week.

It's not much, because I've been overloaded with work, and I don't have tomorrow to work on this, as I'll be at Warped, but here it goes:

EA won't release Battlefield 3 on Steam, and has pulled several major franchises from Steam.

Xbox users, clear some room on your hard drives or rage quit, because the install for RAGE is over 22GB.

New details about Borderlands 2 was released. They're adding new guns. Since there weren't enough in the first game...

Valve announces new Counter Strike game. Counter terrorists win.

NINTENDO

- Just Dance 2 has apparently hit the five million mark for US sales.

- Nintendo of America will be watching 'very closely' over Xenoblades Chronicles' [url-http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/11/reggie-noa-watching-xenoblade-performance-in-europe/]performance in Europe.

- Subsequently, with this new release, you should read up on Operation Rainfall'sprogress. They're a group dedicated to bringing that and a couple of other games to America for localization.

- One more reason Nintendo's feeling pressure? The iPhone.

Hey, guys. Seeing as most of the news on the three major publishers is kinda running dry recently, I decided to dedicate this week's news to Europe's largest gaming exhibition, GamesCom, that occurred this week, and I'll run it down as best as I can!

PC

- MMO juggernaut developer NCSoft (Aion, City of Heroes) unveiled a brand new project, the sci-fi-fantasy-western-ish WildStar. Check out the first few minutes of gameplay. Looks badass.

- Also announced was the 1.5 patch for RIFT. The twelve people that play that game can check out what's to come.

- Portal 2 will get free DLC in mid-September. Maybe. Probably. This is Valve we're talking about.

- Two Worlds II is getting a rather large expansion expansion.

- Samsung used this week to unveil a new gaming PC.

- More details for Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, and Skyrim.

- There was a DOTA 2 tournament. Check that out, there are replays.

PLAYSATION 3/PS VITA

- Dark Souls,the follow up to 2009's Demon Souls, will be 'much harder' than the first and will have no DLC.

-More Resistance 3 details.

- Overkill Studios has announced Payday: The Heist as a PS3 exclusive.

- Electronic Arts and Activision got into some draaaamaaaaa.

- I know it's not a Gamescom article, but check out this puzzle launch game for the Vita, Escape Route.

- Ninja Gaiden 3 will be Playstation MOVE compatible.

- Sony has announced a new model of the PSP. Yay?

- The PS Vita version of Resistance will, according to Nihilistic Studios, no loading screens.

- Gaming developer auteur Suda51's new project is called Lollipop Chainsaw.Um.... right.

XBOX 360

- Xbox's Dashboard interface is getting another face-lift.

- More gameplay footage for the new Assassin's Creed.

- More screens for the much-hyped Dishonored are up.

NINTENDO WII/3DS

- The Wii console is getting a slimmer, not sure if want look, and will be available this holiday season.

- The only news I could find from Gamescom for Nintendo is that the 3DS' new Super Mario 3D Land, out November 13th, will include Sonic. Son, I am disappoint.
