I think the idea of 'flags' as lives is awesome. They have 'med packs' too, where if you find one, you can get one more life taken from you. Going to be a blast. Still need to figure out if I want to be a zombie or not.
Sounds truly awesome honestly. The thing in Florida is terrifying because it's at night and you get like flashlights or whatever you bring. There's no flags or anything. It's pretty realistic except for the whole dying thing. The zombie just wander around through the woods and fields and if they see you or hear you they chase that ass. Imagine how intense that would be to be walking by yourself along a tree line, and hearing someone scream, then bolt out of the woods ahead of you into the fields with zombies chasing them. Heart pounder. Now that I think about it, I think the thing in Florida closed down a few years ago.

Edit: Sorry, realized I rambled about the thing in Florida. I think you should be a runner! How exciting would that be man.

zombie ones? i wish. i'd love to even be able to do a warrior dash or a beach dash but i'm always in the wrong city at the wrong time. fucking moving too much.

edit: just checked the site and there's actually one in austin this december. 2.5 hour drive is totally worth it. and you only have to pay $25 to be a zombie? and you get free wardrobe and make up, free parking, camping AND a free race? fuck yeah. totally doing that. how do i rally up my friends for this without facebook? how did we used to do these things before social networking?

My cousin just did the one in Atlanta and it looked freaking awesome. There is a video on YouTube of someone running the whole course (spliced down to about 8 minutes).

This is a really cool idea, but I wish the race was longer. It's hard to justify the money for only 3 miles.

Yes, it was incredible. It was the first time this company did the race, so there were some flaws (mostly in parking and organizing), but they worked with what they had and it was a blast. The makeup they do for the zombies is ridiculous. Just running through the woods hearing them moan as they walk around had me on cloud nine. Physically, the race isn't challenging at all, as long as you can run a 5k. I was expecting the obstacles to be a bit more challenging, but it didn't take away from it at all. Then the after party was awesome, live music all day and beer and food surrounded by people in zombie costumes and then people that ran in their costumes (I went as Shaun), it was just tons of fun.

It is well worth it.

yeah, i saw a video of a guy running some of the obstacles and they looked extremely easy, but the zombie aspect makes it awesome anyway. i would have loved to sign up to be a runner zombie but all those spots were filled, so we are the "stumbling" zombies that aren't actually allowed to run or chase racers. bummer. i've got four other people in my group at this point, all of us zombies, all of us planning to camp at the site, etc. i'm stoked, but it's not 'til december. haha honestly i think the part i'm most excited for is the zombie wardrobe & make-up, so i'm glad you say that the make-up is ridiculous. i'd love to go costumed, or do a theme with my group but i'm shit at that sort of thing.

haha thank you for bumping this thread

Wow, yours isn't until December and it's sold out of runner spots? I need to check to see if I can still get some for this year. I'll have to post pictures from the race too.

not runner spots as in racers, i mean as far as zombies go. it's only just above 50% full for racers, which i still thought was kind of funny since it's about 9 months out still. unless you were also talking about being a zombie... in which case, yeah, get on that shit
pictures please!
