The Hype Theory have been tearing up the local music scene since the release of their debut EP, Race The Rain, back in 2009. Since then, they have recorded their debut album, earned a highly respectable placement in the Red Bull Bedroom Jam and performed at many stellar festivals hosted in the UK during the last half of 2011.

How is it?
Kid at Heart opens with the song the single is based around, "Kid At Heart." It's a huge track, hooks coming continuously through; it's almost four minutes in length. "Kid at Heart" stands out against their previous material, as it features Katy Jackson (vocals) belting out the chorus a cappella followed by the introduction of a full-band setting, which the rest of the song features.

"Kid at Heart" is followed by "These are the Times," a completely brand-new song taken from their upcoming album. This song is just as catchy and instantly likable as "Kid at Heart," featuring similar hooks and a sing-along pop punk chorus. An acoustic version of the title track is what closes the single out, which provides a softer insight into how "Kid at Heart" works as a song: showcasing the instrumentation and its complexities slightly more than when the more subtle guitars are buried underneath other noises.

In closing, The Hype Theory have shown they are definitely here to stay, cementing their place as one of the most promising bands to rise out of the UK scene in a long time. Although not always original, The Hype Theory prove with this single that they are ready to continue their streak of success and move further towards their goal with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses.
