General News
Most interesting article from a slower news week, Commercial Radio Australia are arguing that at least 25% of all music on Australian radio must actually be from Australia. Maybe they could also drop the 90% of music on the radio that have to be about grinding a girl at a/the club.

Big Day Out has had to drop Kanye West, among others, from the Perth, Adelaide and Auckland. A statement regarding this can be read here.

Playground Weekender has announced there line-up. Let's hope Manchester Orchestra do a sideshow.

Australian Song of the Week

Sydney band Northlane, who I recently got into. Not a huge fan of this genre, but locally these guys and The Bride are doing it right.

1. Lydia are touring in January. Tickets on sale now on Oztix or Moshtix

2. Harvest Festival (featuring Portishead, The National, The Flaming Lips, Bright Eyes, Kevin Devine, and This Town Needs Guns among others) went awesomely in Melbourne and Sydney on the weekend. Brisbane people should get their tickets and go to this festival next Saturday. It's that awesome!

3. Kevin Devine will support This Town Needs Guns for their shows in Sydney (today) and Melbourne (on Tuesday).

4. Fucked Up announced sideshows while they're supporting Foo Fighters this December:

Lydia is coming? I don't properly follow them anymore but I swear they had a farewell/break up tour over here like last November.

Harvest was absolutely amazing in Sydney, definitely recommending it to anyone in Bris who hasn't got tickets already.

Probably the wrong demographic, but Tim Freedman just put out his first album since 2006's Little Cloud. He sounds much happier.

So keen for Manchester Orchestra sideshows!
