I would say he's more of a Neil Young, but I completely agree that he's one of this generation's greats. Glad someone else shares my enthusiasm for such a great songwriter. Solo album now!!

definitely agree that he sounds more like neil young, but i think lyrically and songwriting structure wise his stuff is more like maca's early solo records. especially sir paul's first two post beatles releases.

I love Gibbard, but I wouldn't call his this generations Mccartney. At least not at this point in his career.
