I figuired I'd hit Triple Rock at some point, since Farewell Continental always seems to play there, but The Wonder Years are hitting so that will probably be my first. So happy TWY aren't playing Station-4, I've only been there for PPND. I loved the show, but hated the venue.

that wonder years show will be perfect at triple rock. no barricade. super intimate.

-Rams Head Live- Baltimore, MD - Large club, capacity around 2000 I think, barricade, easy to get to, good parking, safe area, good sound, decent sized floor, multiple bars, a few balconies. Awesome venue, but it only gets bigger shows (PPND, AP Tour, All Time Low, etc.) http://www.ramsheadlive.com/
-Ottobar- Baltimore, MD- Smaller club, capacity around 500, no barricade but stage dives are not allowed. Kind of a sketchy area. Gets smaller shows (TWY, You Me At Six, A Lot Like Birds are among upcoming shows) http://theottobar.com/
-Recher Theatre- Towson, MD- Mid-size venue, capacity around 1000, in the suburbs. Gets mid-sized shows (The Early November, Thrice, Less Than Jake) http://rechertheatre.com/
-Sonar- Baltimore, MD- Mid-size venue, capacity around 1000, never been, but I've heard it's very hot and gets cramped. http://sonarbaltimore.com/
-Mt. Airy Fire Hall- Mt. Airy, MD- Small venue, capacity around 200, no stage, booked by a small booking company who gets smaller shows (Fireworks, Handguns, With The Punches, Man Overboard) and a lot of local punk/metal shows. Nice small venue, easy parking, in the suburbs. I only wish they got more good pop punk shows. http://www.facebook.com/apexbookingshows
-Charm City Art Space- Baltimore, MD- Never been, but I know there's no stage, and they're a DIY venue that gets small punk/hardcore shows (Handguns, La Dispute, Title Fight, Crucial Dudes). In downtown Baltimore, no idea about parking, location, etc. http://www.ccspace.org/
-Merriweather Post Pavilion- Columbia, MD- Mid-sized amphitheatre, capacity around 15,000. Warped Tour comes here, along with many other large summer tours. In the suburbs, good parking, really nice venue for Warped. http://www.merriweathermusic.com/
-The Fillmore- Silver Spring, MD- Large club, brand new, in Silver Spring which is near DC. Gets large acts (Mos Def, Flogging Molly, Widespread Panic). I know nothing about parking/quality of the venue, it just opened recently. http://fillmoresilverspring.com/index

My favorite venues would have to be the Crystall Ballroom and Wonder Ballroom. The Crystall Ballroom is perfect for larger club shows though it gets mostly indie shows with some exceptions every once in a while(MCS, Gaslight Anthem, MCR). It has a much better sound system and venue layout than the similarly sized Roseland Theater. The Wonder Ballroom is sick for mid sized shows (PPND, Thrice, Manchester Orchestra) and the security is by far the most relaxed of any decent sized Portland venue. My favorite smaller venue would have to be Backspace. It's become Portland's main place for smaller punk shows (Bomb The Music Industry, Broadway Calls, Lving With Lions, Banner Pilot type shows) and is the only all ages venue in Portland to allow alcohol throughout entire venue. Pretty much no stage too. Pretty fucking cool if you ask me.

Palladium - Worcester, MA - 2500ish capacity venue. Floor with seats in back and balcony. Another one of my highly recommended venues.

House of Blues - Boston, MA - haven't been to any other HOBs so I can't compare, it is very new though and larger than other HOBs. Lots of good shows. Decent venue with occasionally tight ass security and heaps of children and parents. Often poor sound here, beware.

Empire nightclub - Portland, ME - not sure if it's a venue anymore, saw a really intimate TAI show there once (150 ppl max).

State Theater - Portland, ME - several good shows year round. 2500ish capacity. Old theater type venue. Very nice. Recently renovated and wonderful sound system.
state theatre is 1600 GA, 1300 seated
palladium is 2000
house of blues is 2500
dont know the exact capacity of empire but thats probably close to right, and yes, its still there, but they dont do too many national acts

I like it. Here's some venues I'm aware of.

New Hampshire:

Casino Ballroom - Hampton, NH - 2000ish capacity indoor venue. Lots of good shows April-November. I love this venue and highly recommend it.

Meadowbrook - Gilford, NH - outdoor pavilion. Some good shows may-October. Small for a pavilion which is nice, almost has a country club feel. Really interesting

Verizon wireless arena - Manchester, NH - large indoor arena. Mostly hockey games and kellyclarkson j burbs type shows. Never seen a show here.

Rockos - Manchester, NH - 300ish capacity small local venue. Several shows a week yearlong, mostly metal and hardcore. I really like this venue. Theres a large crowd who go to basically every show there, and they're all nice people.

That's it for my home state. Here's some other nearby venues I've been to though.

Tsongas Arena - Lowell, MA - Indoor arena. Some good shows here. Average.

Comcast Theater - Mansfield, MA - only been here for warped. Large outdoor amphitheater. Amphitheater is average. Warped setting is between amphitheater, woods, dirt and paved parking lots.

Higher ground - Burlington, VT - never been there but I've heard good things.

for MA, there is the DCU center, TD Garden, Club Royale in Boston, Middle East in Cambridge, oprheum theatre, and Agganis in the BU student village. just trying to help make a cohesive list. mansfield sounded great for blink. didnt rockos close down?

Rockos was going to close down as they were opening a venue in Franklin. But they realized the Franklin venue wouldn't work so they ditched that idea and are keeping rockos open.
