but lets be honest, no-no's are NOT perfect games..... i love the stat "10th no hitter in angels history' (that's a lot) and the first since "last july" (first since last year?) i dont know. i cant get too pumped for no-no's really. 274 no hitters now.
but still a nice accomplishment for a player of course.
There has been 200,422 games played in MLB history. Multiply that by 2, since there are two teams in each game, and you get 400,844. So 400,844 pitchers have started a game with a chance to pitch a no-hitter. 274 of them have. 274 divided by 400,844 comes out to 0.068%. So there should be, on average, a no-hitter every 731 games. Still a very rare occurrence in my book.
