I've listened through this record 2 or 3 times now. I want to like it more than I do. Never reading Max making comparisons with this record to IARB may have helped appropriately adjust my expectations, but even so...I tried.

Agreed. Tim Kasher has disappointed with his last few releases, in my opinion, but not at all to the extent that Max Bemis has disappointed with everything since IARB.
