Why dont more bands just do this instead? Its like..."you want a new album from us? Then donate". If a band can't get the money they need, then maybe its time to hang it up.

Its almost like an extreme pre-order...and then you can get certain things for donating. $5 gets you first dibs on a song...plus studio updates...$10 gets you an early digital copy of album, plus studio updates...$15 gets you hard copy and a sticker or poster...$20 gets you hard copy, digital copy, poster, and a coupon for a show..etc
