When I read "vocal lessons" I just laughed. Also at the fact that they pay a guy to do their press and have, what, 800 Facebook likes? It's too laughable to be true.

it's not that i dislike them or anything. i really don't care. but to call themselves a "indie pop" band and then go ahead and do these things shows how terribly misguided they are. for all i know, they might become the next Foster The People but for TIME to run this article and for them to give the impression that this is what they HAVE to do, is just silly.

Cost to have a major news site publish an article by an unknown band so they seem important.

lolol....and another thing, you don't need to live in fucking new york city you damn indie hipsters. that alone is going to rape you financially. you also don't need voice lessons for an indie band.

Ra Ra Riot took off, but they lived in Syracuse for a while when they went to school here before some of the guys moved back to NYC. but the big difference is Ra Ra Riot made a name for themselves and went places while living up here. This band lives in NYC and still no one knows who they hell they are. Its hard to be a small fish in a huge ocean. its so much easier to be a big fish in a small pond. Its easier to get connections and get shows in places like Syracuse because its a tight knit community and scene but in NYC there are thousands of musicians and bands all trying to make it. its just too big.
