I remember reading an interview with Saosin in Alt Press a few years back in which they basically said much of ISOSG's sound was label-influenced. Perhaps these demos represent the direction the band themselves wanted to go.

One of them (Exfoliator) was a song tentatively titled "The Norma Jean Song" and was demoed with Cove doing the vocals during the recording of ISOSG. It never got any sort of formal release though. I wonder if maybe they're using some of those ideas as a springboard for the new stuff they're working on. Either way, I'm excited.
Pretty cool. I think they are all great musicians, so with no major labor pressuring them anymore i'm really looking forward to their new material. Still love their self-titled.
I actually liked about half of ISOSG ("Changing" is awesome) but these instrumental tracks are killer. If the band could just go in that direction and link back up with Cove, the band would be back in action! I don't know about an album without Cove, his voice worked out so well IMO.
