A Shattered Hope - See You At the Grammys EP
Record Label: Unsigned
Release Date: September 6th, 2011

Who?

A Shattered Hope is a post-hardcore band from San Diego, California. Currently unsigned, the band has been constantly touring within their state and already has a nine track EP under their belts. To some degree, the hard work that this quintet has put into their music shows in their latest EP, See You At the Grammys.

How is it?

Hardcore. That's the word I would use to describe this EP. The very well done mix of guitars and double bass drum work brings to mind a group of veteran rockers, not from such up-incomers to the scene. Now is the EP original? Eh, kind of. While the foundation of what they are doing is very similar to other bands in the genre, A Shattered Hope still manages to make it sound catchy. The only other band I can think of that has made their post-hardcore music sound 'catchy' is A Day to Remember. Do not mistake A Shattered Hope for being as good as ADTR though because they aren't. What's cool about A Shattered Hope is that even with less melody and guitar solos than bands such as Every Time I Die, A Shattered Hope still rocks hard and lets who they are show in their songs.
