I guess I never thought about this. I will be holding onto the over 100 vinyl I've collected through out the years.

That's why I'm building up a vinyl collection right now! Actually, that's not really why, but it's a great excuse. Plus, I still have a hell of a CD collection, too. I hope to inherit my father's vinyl collection someday. It's not much, but there are a few gems and some fond memories.

I'm okay with it being harder for us to hand down the likes of Skrillex and Nicki Minaj to the next generation.

I still buy some CD's and they end up being ones that I tend to enjoy the most.

But I did hear most majors are phasing them out so it looks like I'll need to fix my dad's record player and start buying some vinyl.

My mom laughs when i refer to a record as "vinyl." She says they just called them records or albums back them.

Mine says the exact same, she's like 'vinyl? What's that? Oh, you mean a record!'

That said, she gave me her collection years ago (parents no longer have a record player) Full, original Queen back catalogue, some Zepplin, Roxy Music and other great 80's pop. Then my dad gave me his John Denver, Enya and other slightly less 'mainstream' (for lack of a better word) artists. All of them are just fantastic
