Tour Blog: Joe from The Audition (Entry 2)

Posted by: Jason Tate (02/27/12)
Today we've got our second tour blog from The Audition.
Tour BlogFeb. 16th, New York City, Every Avenue tour. We played at Highline Ballroom a venue that we all love and look forward to playing. The tour at this point has really started picking up, all the bands are getting tighter live, the crowds are getting bigger, the energy is becoming more apparent. After the show everyone went to Angels and Kings where the bottles continued to come out. Needless to say it was a shit show, but everyone had a great time at the first tour party so that's all that matters.

The next day we played Springfield, Va at Empire. That show was a lot of fun, the kids were good and we were really starting to find our stage show again. It was a long drive to Boston so we had to leave that night. The show in Worcester was one of my favorite shows of the tour so far. The kids were amazing with tons of energy and pure excitement just to see a show and have a great time. Philly was another show that was really amazing. We've never played at the TLA and the venue is awesome. The show was packed, kids were great, lots of friends came out and we all had a great time. We went out to a few bars on south street afterwards. Great night.

Then we get to St. Louis, good night turned tragic. After the show everyone was enjoying some drinks and then we had to load out...big mistake. Ryan and Tim were being drunken idiots and Tim ended up tripping and falling backwards over the kick drum. He had a beer bottle in his hand so when he fell the bottle sliced open his hand in a few places. 8 strange hours in the er and 8 stitches later and we were ready to go. Tim has been a great though and didn't let that stop him from playing and putting on a show.

Denver was a lot of fun, the show was close to sold out, the kids were awesome, and everyone put on a great show. Unfortunately it was a long drive to salt lake city so we couldnt stay, which sucks because Denver is a spot we all like to play and hang out in.

Salt Lake City was another great show. Everyone there was stoked, we met some fans that was their first show ever and they loved it. We couldn't have asked for a better show in SLC. After the show got a little weird with some strange club night where trannies were all running around, kids with ripped up jnco jeans with rainbow fuzzy boots. Shit was strange. We ended up partying with the Every Avenue dudes at their guitar tech Jonathan's house.

We are having such a good time on this tour, all the bands are great and all fun people, plus Every Avenue are some of our best friends so it's definitely a privilege for us to be back out with them.

Just grabbed the new EP last night and I really enjoy it. More of the same from them, which isn't a bad thing at all.
