As a fan of musical theatre, I'm a sucker for a good reprise, so I'm stoked on that. Wasn't huge on 'Shadow Days,' but it's probably just a grower, and I have all the faith in the world in Mayer that this album will still be something really great. Such a talent.

Second thought: please let one of those be the new title, cause that's one of the best songs I've heard in a long time and it would be a shame not to be on there.

So do I, because then it would be REALLY awesome. Battle Studies is underrated as hell, frankly it gets discredited for what I'd assume is because it's "not as good" as Continuum.

Anyway, I wasn't expecting to be released this early at all. Quite the loop you threw me for there, John.

What's your gripe with Battle Studies? IMO, it was his most raw album lyrically to date.. "Edge of Desire," "War of My Life," "Assassin," "Friends, Lovers or Nothing" were all top notch and easily comparable to Continuum's "Dreaming," "Heart of Life," and "Slow Dancing." If you take a step outside of the singles from each album, I believe Battle Studies beats Continuum by a hair. "Continuum" is one of my favorite albums, so that's saying something.

Agreed, I'd put it second behind Continuum, great album.

Hopefully it'll be kind of a throwback to the era of Room For Squares. To this date, it remains my favorite album.

Continuum is a classic. Battle Studies as a whole can't compare, but there are a few great tracks on there.

Really looking forward to this album, "Shadow Days" is a good song, I like the vibe.

i wouldnt say battle studies was a BAD album, it just didn't have any staying power. that might have to do with continuum being so great but i also think it's because JM played it it pretty safe on battle studies.
