I won't go to the movies at all if I don't have someone to go with.

I see bands on my own fairly often so I'd probably be ok with doing this, but as it is I'm pretty sure I never have.

It's not bad at all. I actually find it to be rather pleasant. Just do early matinees.

Going to the movies by yourself is one of the best things ever. Just go early in the day.

My dad's girlfriend does it all the time, she lives a block away from a very nice theatre.

i do it because no one ever wants to go with me, im a cinephile i have to see something every weekend so then i have to go by myself. sometimes i can drag my mom or brother if its something they want to see but mostly its just me

i never go on my own, but i wouldn't knock someone for doing it. its something I should try.

i've done this for years. my wife used to work at a movie theater when we were just dating, so she'd get us in for free anytime we went. and sometimes if she was working and i still wanted to go, i'd just go by myself. and when i moved out here before she came out, i'd always go by myself. i never understood what the big deal was. if you're like me and don't always want to hang out with a ton of people but still like the whole going to the movies experience it's not a problem.

on the flipside, eating alone in a restaurant isn't too fun to me.

I don't do it often, but I have done it. When watching a film in the cinema you should be silent anyway, so its not like having a friend there particularly improves the experience. Obviously I prefer going with friends, but the actual film watching experience is just the same on your own.

i pretty much only go to the movies alone. i hate scheduling things, so its so much easier for me tobgo see a movie when i want to than to try to coordinate schedules with other people that im not even going to talk to through the movie anyways.

Nothing wrong with it, especially if you really want to see the movie. I had to see Drive and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by myself because none of my roommates wanted to go. It's also great to go to an early showing where there's not alot of people because people can get annoying.

Wouldn't go by myself, personally, but I have no issue with the concept or whatever. It's just that I would personally watch something on Netflix, etc, rather than spend that money by myself. But if you wanna see something, go for it.

I never do this if there is a chance that I will see someone that I know there. Like say I go to a theater in my hometown. NO way I would go alone. However, if I am somewhere where I have almost no chance of seeing anyone, then I wouldn't care to go alone.

I will if no one wants to see the movie I do. I've only done it once though and it was for "An Education".

And I always notice people sitting by themselves so it's not that weird for me to do it. Sometimes I just like being by myself.
