Shit, you ain't kidding - he took those down awfully fast.
For those that were quick enough to listen, is this in the same realm as the solo stuff he released about a year ago? |
I was fortunate enough to hear 4 demos he's posted this week, and let me tell you, they kick major ass. They are NOT in the same style as his solo stuff, they are actually really similar to Rufio. The only way I can describe them is that they are sort of a middle ground between Rufio and Strung Out. All 4 were pretty fast, still melodic like Rufio, but down tuned and with metal-ish guitar riffs like back in the old days of Rufio. They for sure have a harder edge to them. Can't WAIT til he officially releases them.
I enjoyed his previous demos. It saddens me that he isn't doing demos for Rufio. Anywhere but Here was fantastic. |
The weird thing is that these demos seem more similar to old Rufio to me than his solo demos OR more recent Rufio. The songs are filled with the fast and intricate guitar riffs, something that was missing (for some reason) on the last Rufio record.
