I enjoyed this album back in the day, but I tried breaking it out a year or two ago and just could not get through it. Has not aged well.
I was surprised that I made it through. I was thinking it was going to end up deleted ... but then I actually kept it going for the entire thing. I am back on the hunt for more to delete.
Love this album. First heard Leaving Chicago on the 2003 Fearless Records sampler, after that this album has always been one of my favorites. The three voice part at the end of that song still gives me chills every time.
always up for chicago pop punk nostalgia... especially with lots of these bands rising from the dead. just came across these guys on an old mix cd i found that actually still worked (highlight of my week, btw). i'd still listen to the shit out of this with the windows down.
I remember buying this cd used from the local record store for like $2 bucks. Got jupiter sunrise as well. Both solid albums. I have the cover art from the knockout cd as a poster in my room, love it.
Reminds me exactly of that period. The bass sounds exactly like on Rufio's "Perhaps, I suppose". Didn't they do a cover as well for that first punk goes pop cd? Damn that was a good one. With Rufio's : Like A Prayer and The Starting Line doing "I'm real". It's definitely nostalgic haha
Edit: and now I'm listening to Slick Shoes: Now's time. From that period as well.
A friend in austin said they were scheduled to play there recently. I wonder if that happened, or if it was another band called knockout. I always wanted to see them live. I always thought the second spitalfield vocalist on remember right now sounded like the knockout dude. Guess it was him after all.
