I remember hearing rumors way back when of the Anchorman sequel being set years later in the 80s rather than the 70s, which could be awesome.

I also remember the rumors that it would be the story of Ron Burgundy in present day being wicked old, and then the rumor that it might be about Ron getting a job as on-field reporter from Vietnam. It's been so long that these ideas are probably dead, but it will be gold no matter what.
