Madonnatopped the charts this week with over 350k sold. Our friends The Used hit #8 with around 27k copies sold, and The All-American Rejects did a little over 17k. Fun. remains strong with another 18k to their credit.
Not too surprised by AAR's weak showing...bands of their ilk haven't had big singles in awhile, which is what they sold their last album off of. Plus this cd doesn't seem to be made for the radio, which isn't a problem but won't translate into strong album sales this cycle at least.
its sad that 27k copies will get you the 8th spot. The music industry is so screwed up!
I'm happy for the used, but it has to be weird. There was a time when anything they put out would sell 500k copies. It has to be strange for them. Same goes for AAR.
AAR really is shocking. Radio single or not, I would have imagined that they'd have a larger fan base than The Used any day. Really cool for The Used though regardless of my thoughts on the album. Top 10 is pretty crazy
don't know why anyone who heard the AAR record finds the lack of sales surprising. it doesn't sound like what people are used to from them, and not in a good way, commercially speaking.
it's not too suprising that they've fallen so low, just a bummer. the band has always been great. how did the last album do sales wise in the first week? gives you hell was pretty big
