Sorry if there's a similar thread... I searched but didn't see anything

What are some bands that you've been meaning to listen to for however long, but just never have?

For me I'd say New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Cocteau Twins.

In each case, I know that I'd like them, but their discographies are just too big for me to know where to start, so I've just never gotten around to it.

I think about this all the time but can't think of too many off the top of my head. Real Estate, Yuck, Gold Panda, and The Album Leaf are what come to mind.

Why post about how you've never listened to them when you can just go listen to them?

How's the trudging through the bandcamp thread coming along?

I did like 25 pages that first day, then about 10 the next, and then like 2+ weeks to go from 35-43, where I've been sat for a couple days now. So, yeah. Trudging is a very, very suitable word at this point in time.

I'm delegating music searching to you because of this ridiculous headache.

I have absolutely no intention of doing any such duty.

Why ask a question I've already answered?

Because I see no point in idle conjecture when a solution is readily available.

I have two friends who absolutely love The Album Leaf but it never really did anything for me. I saw Yuck live last year at a festival and that got me to really listen to their album - it's awesome. Real Estate is great, too.

The thing about The Album Leaf and other post-rock is that you need to really drink in the album without distractions.

I guess harmless discussion is forbidden? Or maybe if person x says a band they've been meaning to listen to, person y could post a song they like by the artist?

Sorry about the "idle conjecture", though. It shan't happen again.

Yeah a few of my friends really dig The Album Leaf too, and I always like it when it's put on, just never get around to listening more in depth. I've heard all of Days by Real Estate and most of the Yuck album with friends too, just never gotten around to picking either up unfortunately.
